  • Comment: After looking at many alternatives including those by CaseLogic, I must say that the Toshiba hard shell travel cases (for the Canvio and similarly sized drives) are a steal. Great design, excellent workmanship, and a good feel (not slippery, with easy-to-grip ridges). The major difference between the Toshiba model and the competition is that Toshiba had the good sense to design the case with a divider between the HD section and the mesh sleeve side intended for the USB cable. Also, on the accessory side there are two separate compartments for memory cards. Without that divider, the drive would get scratched up in no time. These may be $5 more than some of the others, but it's well worth it. It's also worth noting that at least with the Canvio, you can actually leave the drive in the case and easily plug it in: just slide the drive down a little and the micro USB easily plugs in without putting any strain on the collar of the cable. You never have to even take the drive out, since the case will lie flat when opened. Highly recommended.

  • Comment: I got this carrying case because I am always carrying my ext HD to work with me and I wanted the extra protection for it (that and the toshiba portable hard drive is a bit prone to scratches). Hard external casing enclosed in non-slip material, which I appreciate. The width of the toshiba one is thinner than my iomega hard drive carrying case - although the iomega has more padding. I like the inside flap that covers my ext HD while providing extra storage for my usb memorty sticks. All in all, a good buy.
