  • Comment: Ok, my wife had a full size laptop with all the trimmings ran fast really fast, had DVD writer and 17" screen, but she wanted one of these, size was key! Well after selling off the high end laptop we are very disappointed in this product. First its slow very slow, online you cant watch video without it stopping every min to buffer. As for games forget it, kids wont even try to play them they run so slow!

    If you were going to strictly use this for email or typing or minor use than it may be for you. Other than light use forget it, this thing cant handle it. Im now looking at selling this to buy a new full size laptop again, losing a lot money in this deal, sold a top of the line to buy this and now having to sell this for a loss. Im very upset that I even bought this and my wife, believe me, she has told me to stop the "I told you so", she knows she screwed up but she wont say it!

    Unless you literally are just checking email, stay away!

  • Comment: While it was working it was a fine netbook--I bought it in July of 09--in April of 09 it started freezing--I tried to reinstall the xp--that killed the machine--I put netbook remix on it and got it to work long enough to contact ASUS--they said it needed a bios reflash--windows would still not install and it still kept freezing up--I sent it back--they said it was ram--and 'fixed it' and sent it back--it still won't install windows and it still freezes solid--of course ASUS warranty is up....go figure--don't waste your cash on this lemon.

    A netbook should last years--not months.

  • Comment: For what it's worth: Bought this 11 months ago on Amazon and it's turned into a brick... Took it in for a warranty repair at an ASUS authorized service site and was told the power adapter is not working AND the power adapter isn't under warranty (but it's only $14 + shipping for a replacement...).

  • Comment: I bought two ASUS Eee 1005HA back in August 2009 for which I have the invoice from Amazon.
    About six weeks ago one unit wouldn't load the operating system and I started the process of repair with ASUS. Multiple calls and many hours later Asus are in the process of "thoroughly investigating" the situation: they dispute the purchase date of the notebook claiming it was May putting the unit out of warranty(as I stated I have the receipt issued by Amazon)which they claim they could determine from the serial number. Did Amazon sell me a used unit as new? --- I don't think so.

  • Comment: I read other good reviews of this product online but was a little sceptical. It came in great shape and does everything promised. I also purchased a mouse as the navigation pad was hard to get just right. The smaller keypad takes some getting used to, but I'm very pleased with this purchase.
