- Summary: AWESOME
- Comment: Don't get full by its size, this scanner is just amazing. It' fast, accurate, looks great on your desk and its easy to use. Yes, it might be pricey BUT it's totally worth it. One of my clients bought it a few months later after telling him about my experience with it, but also because he check online for reviews and found tons of great reviews about it.

- Summary: Excellent conversion of medical records to pdf files!
- Comment: The summary: I love this scanner and recommend it to anyone who has to scan a lot of stuff without reservation. It works well with my MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz with OS 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard).
Medical records are often hard to scan, particularly if they cover a long time and have papers of various sizes, ages, and compositions. My records are handwritten on both sides of each page (black or blue ball point pen, some pages lined and others with variously slanted and spaced handwriting. A nightmare, I thought, so I researched scanners in order to put these records in digital storage, figuring I needed to scan 5 filing cabinets full of records (probably 4 drawers of record pages only). [I am a psychiatrist in private practice, handwriting all notes and dictating none, including correspondence and reports in the record as supplied.]
Well, this scanner performs as advertised, taking all sizes of pages, copying both sides of each page simultaneously, and taking a stack of pages at a time. Occasionally the scanner would hang up if I forgot a staple (this adventure has taught me never never never to staple pages together to put in a medical record!!!) or if pages stuck together. Instructions are to be sure the pages can separate and I have learned to hold a stack of pages in both hands and, rotating the hands in opposite directions, twist the pile; this seems to work well although with some old records I have had to repeat the process a couple of times.
The output is very clear, in pdf files that are easy to read with the Adobe reader. I haven't used any of the specialized applications that are furnished with the scanner yet, so I can't assess their function or utility. But I am truly impressed with how fast, easy, and uncomplicated this project is going, and I have already saved enough money by doing this myself (while watching television or talking to family) to pay for the scanner, based on how much Staples offered to charge me for the same project--and I'm only about 1/2 way done. And I still would have had to sort and prepare the records, either way.
And I can always find the files after scanning (I am backing up to external hard drives as I go to be sure not to lose the work).
So, in every way, this scanner rocks!

- Summary: Look no further
- Comment: Fantastic scanner, great interface with the mac (OS 10.5 and 10.6), addresses my small home office scanning needs superbly and the right price! I scan between 20-50 pages per week, although I suspect this could handle quite a bit more. Reports when pages go through doubled (although they rarely do). If you have a really big job, (1000+ pages), go to a local scan shop; although I bet this little workhorse could handle it.

- Summary: don't look any further
- Comment: Let me first say that I don't normally write reviews on anything, but I had to in the case of the ScanSnap. I have two of these scanners for my small business and I haven't found a problem yet with either. There are few products that I've found that are as good as this both in hardware and software. well done and highly recommended. Keep it up Fujitsu!

- Summary: ScanSnap S1500M - a snap
- Comment: The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M (for Mac) is a pleasure. It is easy to use and works so well with the Mac. Adobe Acrobat Professional, that comes with the ScanSnap, makes it easy to review, edit and do almost anything with a form.
If there is any negative it is CarIris does not scan the information into Mac's Address Book as the PC version Scans the card information into Outlook. This is a little Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner for the Macintosh compared to all that it does on a Mac, and the ease of scanning.
