  • Comment: Over the years monitors have moved away from the old 4:3 aspect ratio to more of a letter box format. The viewsonic VA2223wm is 16:9 which means that it slightly more letter box than all other flat screens from Acer or LG which is what we have in our household. Unlike the Acer 22" which is 22", the Viewsonic is actually only 21-5/8". You may think this is not a big deal but if you are using this as a 2nd monitor beside an LG or Acer, it will be smaller.

    The button controls are on the bottom middle. This would be ok, but the power switch is also in the middle hidden in between the other same sized buttons. Most other monitors have the switch in a more obvious position.

    The quality of display is very good and much better than our Acer, about on par with my LG, although not quite a 1080p screen.

    In closing, the performance is very good the size disparity is a bit of a disappointment. Considering the retail price, this is still an excellent value and I would strongly consider buying another one
