  • Comment: I tried this drive because we had purchased some for a recording function at work. I wanted more experience incase something went wrong at work. I installed this 80G drive and reloaded Win7 32 and it worked flawlessly. I paired it with 2 2TB drives for storage on my quad core 6600. I am so satisfied that I will not be upgrading to the I7 processor this year well maybe at the end of the year. If I could buy a few more of these to speed up my old Vaio laptop I would but the price is a little high for that. I highly recommend this drive.

  • Summary: Awesomeness!
  • Comment: I installed this drive in my Lenovo S10-3t tablet/netbook, and an extremely impressed with the drive speed and performance. With this drive (and a few other upgrades), my little netbook now runs faster than my workstation at work.

  • Summary: SSD is a revolution in computing.
  • Comment: Been in the computing industry since the Vic-20 days - I have to say SSD drives are the first revolution in computer technology I've seen in the last 15 years. We are finally departing for the old Winchester drive mechanism. "Traditional" HD's have always been the bottle neck in modern computers.

Upgrades have been in relatively small leaps in performance or size but no real changes in the core technology. Adding more cores, more space or < 20% performance gains is not revolutionary - IMHO.

    This drive is very impressive.

  • Summary: Still expensive, but still the best
  • Comment: I finally took the plunge and went SSD. I should have done this a lot sooner! While I still feel the price point of solid state disks is out of reach for most people, this drive's performance is astounding.

  • Summary: Worth it?
  • Comment: It's not much faster. Not enough to justify the cost. Put it in for boot and apps. Works fine. Intel said it doesn't work with RAID? It does if you set it outside HDDs in the bios. If you want to double check that the trim is running when discs are raid go to the tool box...drive information...line 169... if the bit VALUE is 1, trim is on. Don't run any windows scheduled maintenance on this drive. Use the SSD Opt. in the tool box instead.

All in all, won't be putting these in client's comps until the price goes down/storage goes up...unless they 'have to have one'. I'll leave the one in mine...tested and beat it so 'I knew" if it was worth the additional $. Clients appreciate bang for the buck...who doesn't. Unless you're trying to resurrect a basket case....
